About me

My name is Michael Schweiger and I started ABL Counseling with the mission of helping others truly achieve freedom, healing, and experience abundant living. Throughout our journey negative beliefs and emotions impact how we view ourselves, others, and everyday life. When I work with clients my goal is to help them identify and replace negative thinking with life giving beliefs to reach new levels of mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health.

My years of expertise have come from a variety of environments as a mentor and counselor in mental health and youth organizations, school counseling, and private practice. I am a Licensed Counselor Candidate (LPC) and Prepare-Enrich Certified and completed my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary.

My approach to counseling is integrative in nature meaning I utilize and combine different approaches to fit the need of each client. A few common approaches I use are CBT, Emotion-focused, and Psychodynamic based therapies. Although I work with youth to older adults and couples I specialize in working with youth and young adults since I have worked with these populations for an extended periods of time.

My areas of specialty are: trauma, chronic illness, depression/anxiety, pornography addiction, couples, and faith-based counseling. Our sessions will not only focus on your immediate needs and challenges, but equip you with tools to continually overcome challenges after therapy.

My commitment is to listen, empathize, ask questions, build you up, share truth, and provide the needed tools to live life abundantly. Are you ready to start living your life to the fullest?

In my free time I enjoy exercising, watching sports, singing, participating in obstacle course runs, going on hikes, spending time with friends and my beautiful wife and kids.
